The Vietnam press, namely radio stations and news publishers, covered the AI³ Hanoi Meeting.

First the news was broadcasted over the radio on the first day and then several major newspapers in Vietnam reported the meeting the next day. A news has been covered with a large space by a VN news publisher which is very popular for young VN people. In addition, the other VN news publishers including a most major newspaper in Vietnam have also covered our meeting.

It is exciting that the Voice Of Vietnam (VOV), the official radio of the gov. of VN broadcasted a report on the AI³ Project later. About 80% of Vietnamese polulation listens daily the VOV.

			Saturday, October 9th, 1999 Universities participating AI3 in Vietnam will get free - of - charge Internet access! That is the latest news from the annual forum " Asian Internet Interconnection Initiative" which was held in Hanoi, from October 7th to 9th, grouping more than 30 delegates from countries in the areas as: Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand ... 			Thursday, October 12th, 1999 A free-of- charge Internet leased line for Research and Education. Informaticians from member-countries of the "Asean Internet Interconnection Initiatives" forum have grouped for the first time in a 3-day-conference in Hanoi, from October 7th to 9th. From a full-of-courageous-ideas project, Vietnam and other member-countries will get a free of charge Internet leased line of 1.2 to 2 Mbps. Being a representative of Vietnam participating in the project, the Institute of Information Technology has invited for tender of the equipments sale for the earthstation installation which is to be held in the end of this year; and it also intends to bring the leased line into effect from the beginning of the year 2000. 			Wednesday, October 13th, 1999 According to the Institute of Information Technology (IOIT), when the project AI3 is carried into effect, Vietnam will get a free-of-charge leased line of 1.5 Mbps to the Internet in service of Research and Training in the country. This is an important Internet project which gets the participation of many professional institutions from some countries in the area, including the IOIT. (News, Vietnam News Agency)
